Goals and Metrics
Fujimi Corporation, as part of its goal to minimize its environmental impact, continuously strives to reduce solid waste and water consumption; to improve waste water management; and to promote energy efficiency.
We monitor the metrics presented below as part of our continuous improvement process and as part of our active internal promotion of improving our environmental sustainability and the reduction of our overall impact on the environment.
At the beginning of 2019, Fujimi Corporation undertook a project to better understand our environmental impact as it relates to greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, we have chosen to revise how we report our environmental sustainability metrics to align with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol standard for emission reporting for Scopes 1 and 2. Our emission reports use calculations and factors associated with the 2014 IPCC Fifth Assessment Report1.
In addition to GHG emission reporting, Fujimi Corporation will continue to report landfill waste/recycling efforts and water usage/recovery/recycling statistics. Fujimi Corporation continues to look for opportunities within these areas to help reduce our overall impact on the environment even though these areas do not directly impact GHG emissions reporting for Scopes 1 or 2.
1 As of May 2024, Fujimi Corporation is restating its CO2 annual emissions due to our adoption of supplier-specific CO2 intensity values becoming available for our Scope 2 emissions. This supplier-specific measurement has been retroactively applied to our reported values, starting with report year 2015.
*Estimated Scope 2 CO2 intensity based on prior year’s supplier-specific value.
